Sure, we can do that! Just send me 400 3.5" floppies, and I'll get them run off
for you during the next 6 months.

Seriously, BDI could be stripped down to about 100 floppies, I'd guess, but that
is still not real practical. Or, you could just get EMC and the RT patches, and
apply them yourself. If you aren't a Linux expert, you might not want to go
that way. I'd suggest you just get a CDrom drive.

Stepper drive signals come out the parallel port. generally, you need
a second parallel ports for the aux I/O (spindle, coolant, etc.)
