I use Laplink to link my Ahha DOS based 486 to the W98 shop computer.
I have found that V 3.0 seems to be the best V2.0 works OK, V3 has
more features and after that there are windows/DOS conflics.
I just use a 4 wire telephone cable between the two serial ports.
IIRC the wiring on a 25 pin is:-
2 - 3
3 - 2
7 - 7
Biggest disadvantage is that you have to manually switch both
machines into laplink mode and then move your files over. Not a
problem in my case as they are close to one another but if it was a
house to shop link could be a pain. You can use either machine to
link over.
