Brian,
First go to www.geckodrive.com and download their white papers. Their white
papers will tell you how to calculate the required voltage. You should end
up with about 48 volts.
For the second item on the Bridgeport clone, you may want to contact Roland
Friestad at Cardinal Engineering. He has a very nice set of reprints of
articles that he wrote for the Home Shop Machinist back in about 1990. I am
currently working on a cnc retrofit (Enco mill) for a local high school. The
articles have been a great deal of help to me.
If you need a wiring diagram, I can give you one from my cnc router plans
www.campbelldesigns.com.
