Hi Lew:
Masterscam did a major rewrite with version 7, I believe.
The user interface became more workable, and I believe V7 was the first to
have toolpath associativity (You can edit the toolpath parameters without
having to reselect the geometry)
I think the earlier versions than 7 would likely have limited value for
industrial customers.
There are also quite a few decent low end programs out there for hobbyists
(many commercial customers using them too!!)
The last consideration is that the Masterscam boys will likely breathe fire
down your neck if you resell their software, even the obsolete versions.
They are unreasonable beyond belief when it comes to persecuting the small
fry about the dreaded license agreement.
