Bill,
For cutters in the 1/4" and under for both wood and metal I have had very
good luck with using a Sherline headstock and variable speed motor with the
10,000 rpm pulley set on it. It does not have the speed or power of a router
motor, but has a much stiffer spindle. They list for $335.00 and I sell them
for $284.75 plus shipping on my Sherline site.
