Good question, but afraid I don't know. What I can tell you is that the
headstock uses 2 bearings total. One at each end of the spindle. The 2
bearings are identical. They are about 2" or so OD and about 3/4" ID (just
from memory, so this could be way off). They are preloaded by the spindle.
They are too narrow to be tapered rollers based on the roller bearings I
have seen.

Hope that helps a little? My guess is they are standard or deep groove ball
bearing cartridge units.
