Noisy compared to what? Compared to a router it is quiet as can be. My 10 hp
Craftsman shopvac is much louder. The sound is pretty high frequency so it
does not carry real well. I do not find it uncomfortable to stand next to it
without hearing protection, but I hate to run the shopvac without my hearing
protectors on if that helps any.
