RE: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] DeskCNC Versus Master 5 / Mach 1

Well that much I think I know, feel free to correct me though.
The "board" is a pic based producet that takes RS232 commands from a
serial port and generates step / direction outputs as opposed to using a
printer port.
I believe it makes for "better" more accurate pulses with better mixing
of X and Y axis especially when doing circles etc. ?? I think it gives
a theoretical higher number of steps per second. I wonder how "real
time" it is though. However Mach 1 doesn’t seem to need it.
Any comments ?

I'll ask another question -
What does the controller board do? How does it compare to Mariss'
forthcoming G2002 project? Might it be used with a different G-Code
interpreter?

|I have noticed a lot of people on this list are also on Art's Master5
|/ mach 1 list also. OK, so what would be the advantages of using
|DeskCNC with controller board over master 5 with a printer port ?
|Especially in the way of software ie what is different / better for one
|over the other.
