It might be that there are some individuals just "too close" to a
particular product to make public their opinions. Many in this group are
developers or very close supporters of products, be it via Beta testing
or personal friendships. That's not bad or wrong, just tricky to get to
the bottom of things. We all develop a little favoritism.

Most of you know I am a supporter of FlashCut. I find it to be very user
friendly compared to some of the others, and it's motion with good
drivers is as good as any in it's class. I have seen some that did not
run so good..... A lot of that was because of the Drivers/ motors and
gear ratios they were using. I ended up using it after using Ah-Ha,
Microkinetics, Indexer LPT, and a half dozen other controllers commonly
applied on OEM CNC Routers and engravers from NewingHall, Newhermes,
MultiCam, Western Engravers and Digital. I personally enjoy FC over all
of the above for my application.

I too would love to really know how some of these newer programs compare
with each other side by side, on the same machine. I hope very soon to
find out more about Mach1. Who can ignore the blistering speed and
accuracy of such a software development and at $100.... Why not buy it
and try it ?. All I can conclude is that Art must be a very brilliant
person as other companies struggle to put out features like he has been
able to implement in about a year.

I need to make up a cable so I can go between the two controls easily.
Unfortunately, my setup requires some changes in my 5volt supply in
order to control my Output relays safely. Not sure how I want to do that
yet. I will be using the API drivers that Tim sold a while back. I
should be able to get a grip between these two programs on my Router as
I should be able to find out just how good the contouring features are
at Flatbed type speeds. The FlashCut aspect will be under version 2
control which is going to be out very soon, unfortunately I can not
switch back to version 1.

Opinions in this forum should not really hurt anyone as long as they are
focused on facts. There are nice ways to say where a control needs a
little work. They all have good points and its not so good points.
Friendly critisism can help developers move forward in areas others may
do a little better.

So, If I can figure out that Pin configuration setup out in Mach1, of
which was very confusing at first, but looks clearer now, I'll be able
to make some comparisons soon.
