I agree, but see two other paths.

one is ram and the other is wire.

Ram or plunge is simplier and would seem to be an easier target. I
think most of us already have the need to remove taps and burn holes
thru hard metal like the case hardening of ground rod.

cutting shapes is different and any ram work would be a solid base.

it would be much easier in my opinion to prove a power supply by
plunge.
