Jeff,
Why do you say that it will not work.
If you have two identical transformers you should be able to wire the
outputs in parallel as long as you have the phase correct. If the outputs
are color coded, you should be able to wire them correctly. If wired
incorrectly they will buck.
This should be no different than using a transformer with two separate
output windings that are wired in parallel.
