The DenverCNC control box is $475. The mill lists for $925.00 for the
long X version. Just like on the DenverCNC site I put in the motors for
free instead of discounting the mill. If someone has appropriate motors
already I can give them a better price on a mill.

Unlike may who may express an opinion on this I own one of each and I am
a dealer for each so I have no reason to favor one over the other. I
have to admit to being converted to a Taig loyalist after getting one.
The Taig mill is much stiffer than a Sherline, the screws are much
larger and stiffer and the accuracy is probably better than the
Sherline. On the Sherline side the spindle, headstock and motor is much
heavier duty. The Taig comes in a version that has 12" of X travel. The
Sherline can be upgraded with a longer column to have much more Z
travel. Sherline has a much more extensive selection of accessories, but
are more costly. Either one will do great work out of the box. The way I
frame my recommendation is that if you want a lathe and a mill you will
probably want a Sherline so you can swap accessories. If you are only
looking for a mill or don't care if the accessories are out of the box
interchangeable with a lathe get a Taig. I also own a Sherline lathe and
have owned a Taig lathe. The 2 are in different leagues and I only
recommend the Taig lathe for people that are doing light work and never
want to CNC the machine.

I am sure this will step on some toes because no one likes to have
someone say their equipment is a piece of crxp. But, this is my opinion
based upon actual use and ownership of both produces and not just trying
to defend the machine I have.

One further decision point is that Sherline machines are available to
ship within a day or two. Taig mill usually take about 3 - 5 weeks to
ship as they are assembled to order. If you are in a rush, unless
someone has a machine in stock (I try to keep one on hand) the Taig will
be a wait.
