Some types of car washer pump are a no no, well they will not last very long
anyway, the reason being is that one type is a gear pump and the other one
that i have seen is fitted with a small rubber impeller, and both will wear out
pretty rapidly with all the swarf in the coolant, the one you want is a
centrifugal type pump, there is a washer motor like this and the one that i used on a
job years ago, came off a renault car, but the best one i have found and
which i use on both my mill and lathe is a caravan pump, this is a little 12v
sealed submersible pump, you will need either a speed controller or a tap to
control the flow.
