Here is what I do on my Taig CNC:

Very little mess, low coolant useage, good cooling and lubrication.
Expensive to get working if you are an electronics moron like me and you buy
the timer module, but you gys are much better at all the electronic stuff,
so you can probably find a way to do it cheaper.
