I have yet to see BobCad or any one of its people answer any questions
here, to the CCED group, or discount there product to us hobbyists

Bill, I've never actually seen the Bob-clowns answer a question
anywhere on any forum. Each and every question gets a response of
additional hype and sales drivel. The people who do actually answer
questions on the various forums where BC is discussed aren't actually
employees, but rather users who have figured out how to get the
software to work in spite of the quirks and half-baked documentation.
/// The training CD's explain everything in detail. Got it working = Learned
My thought is that BC is wanting to promote the use of their
pay-per-view support. Of course, anyone who's used their "support" in
the past knows its nothing but a waste of a phone call. As far as
discounting is concerned, if someone is enough of a masochist to
actually want to buy Bob-crap, don't offer them 200 bucks for V19
unless you're really wanting to join their ranks of dissatisfied
users.
/// I use it and I strongly recommend it.
They've tried to sell it to me at that price several times. I
still use V17 and can do most of what I need to do with it.
/// If I was as dissatisfied as you claim to be I certainly wouldnt be using it.
I had a
demo of V19 on my computer, and thru some glitch, when I had to reload
V17, V19 became a fully operational program. I fooled around with it
some, and found it had so many different bugs
///Could you please outline some of those "bugs"? I asked someone else to do that and never got a response. They said they had a list of them.
that I ultimately
deleted it. I guess you could say I got it for nothing and still
found it wasn't a good deal :) With as much negative feedback as BC
gets on any forum where its discussed, their sales have to be sagging.
////Yeah with all the negative postings from people who just expect it to work without learning it. Thats really unfair. Case in point, I was on another forum one evening prior to purchasing Bobcad. A community college prof posted a very negative feedback about Bobcad. I read down in the posts and the same professor one week later posted a retraction apologizing and praising Bobcad because they had become familiar with it. Highly recommending it.
Personally, I've never seen anyone express a negative opinion of BC
that I failed to agree with, based on my experience with them in the
past. Actually, for as bad as their software may be, it's a lot
higher caliber than their people are. Fortunately, most software I've
ever encountered lacks the ability to mimic the traits of lowlife
humans who will lie endlessly with the goal of separating you from
your money.
I would caution anyone who thinks about an Ebay purchase of Bobcad to
proceed with caution. V16 and earlier used a dongle, but V17 and
later uses a keycode where you load the program and then call BC and
give them the number thats generated on the screen. They'll verify
you're an owner of the software and then give you a code to enter that
will allow use of the program. If you didn't buy it from them they
will charge you a "change of ownership" fee that exceeds the value of
the software.
/// That is not true. Bobcad themselves sell packages on Ebay and the user license is included. One of the main reasons I purchased Bobcad is because they are a U.S. based company. Isn't Vector Cam from overseas? I know Dolphin Cam is from the UK. Our present government doesnt need any assistance in channelling even more US money overseas. I always buy American made goods when possible.
By the way....I wanna know how Fred likes his new title of "ultimate
dongle". That's a truly prestigious title :)
