Yes, the G2002 works with currently available step/dir drives. and
yes, Mariss has posted that the unstoppable stepper concept will also
use "normal" drives and motors. The feedback is received within the
G200X. From there, since it is the one sending out the steps; it will
adjust the rate of steps for ALL axes to accomodate any motor which
appears to be near loss of position. As Mariss says, by sliding up-or
down-- the motor/drive torque curve. All axes must be regulated to
maintain toolpath integrity, whihc would be lost otherwise.

So POC drives and motors can take advantage of the G200X. Based on
what Mariss has posted so far--in the Geckodrive and/or Mach2 group--
relating to your question.
