The rutex drive appears to add some features, the question is if those
features are needed because of some lacking design, or just window
dressing.

I held out for a super-supre VGA with 1600 x 1200 because it was new,
the kids use 800 x 600.

It seems the basics have been covered for some time. And there are
people who keeps wanting something more. I see people wanting more
voltage way more than people wanting more current.

So, strip away the window dressing and it appears it is a high current
drive.

I've been beating around the numbers for Bridgeports and plasma tables
and routers and have not found that any of these machines even
approach the limits of the Gecko 320.

I am curious what you see that the new drive brings to the table that
is not available now ?

As I see it, most of us use whatever is available when we build, then
leave it for years, or until something breaks, or some major
advancement occurs.

I have machines running with G201 rev A's. since they are running
there is no need or benifit to swap them out with the newest drive.

Many (most?, nearly all??) of the early geckos are still in operation.

will we buy the new drives ? I'll buy a single vampire to save my
arse on initial installations, but use standard units for the final
machine. (until I run out of my supply anyway)
