Hi Scott,
The lock range is not adjustable on the current models. I believe it
will be on the new range.
Either way you can work around it with tuning. You cannot have as
aggressive acceleration with Geckos but does that really matter? Unless
you are doing heavy production work the overall machining time
difference is negligible.
Of course the ideal is a true servo operation where the computer can
have two different following error limits, one for rapids and one for
cutting. AFAIK the only hobby controller capable of this is EMC.
