Re: BOSS5 Where to plug the Geckos???

Well I took the plunge yesterday and gutted the computer cabinet for
the most part. I only had to cut 2 wires, which were soldered to the
transformer buried in the bottom. On a side noe...can anyone tell me
the right way to discharge those big capacitors??? I was sweating
while disconnecting them fearing getting zapped. :)

I still have to pull the pendant off the top and pull all of those
skinny 24ga wires thru. I did leave the relays at the bottom of the
cabinet in place. These are to turn the way lube on??? What are these
for exactly? Still have to pull the transistor plates off of the big
sink and do a few other odds and ends...

I am thinking at this point that I might take the 2 55v/800VA torid
transformers that I bought for the servos and mate them with some
caps that I pulled out of the cabinet. That way if/when I do decide
to run the servos (or my 4th axis) I know that I'll have enough
cookies to run everything.

If time permits (been so busy working!) I'd like to do full
documentation on the conversion using Geckos so that others can
follow along...and know that their machine will work in the end! I
don't believe that you have to spend $5k+ on a prepackaged servo
upgrade (or $2k for a stepper upgrade kit) to get the machine
running.

Thanks for all the help thus far,
-Brady
