Yes, that's quite true! And we are all greatly concerned about SAFETY, thus
the rather curt "NO" in many (including mine) responses. And yes, we've
seen this question many times before, and yes, we will continue to dissuade
members from using VARIACs without isolation transformers.

VARIACs are a good way to adjust line voltage. I've done it myself for
testing a Vextra cw/ccw driver that wanted 100V. Long term solution is to
use a bucking transformer in series with the primary.
