Definition, definition, definition, but I see what you mean.
By definition your estop switches are closed loop in that they
detect a state/condition and take an action based on that.
This does not mean that the machine/devise as a whole
works in a closed loop. That only comes with a fully
integrated closed loops system, where every error
is detected and corrected on the fly.
