there is a cool video of a hexaglide on the net somewhere, its just
like a hexapod but has fixed struts and sliders. Anyway they show it
moving around and tilting in both directions (the head that is the bed
stays still). Then they show the 6th axis. They rotate the spindle
around its axis!!
Considering the spindle is rather good are rotating itself I thought
it was quite funny.
Perhaps they could do away with the spindle and just mount an end mill
directly, you could then lower twist, raise twist back, lower
twist ....
A sort of ratcheting milling cutter.
Somehow I doubt it will catch on :)
