Sorry, but I don't know. My glass cutting experience is limited to
watching burglers cutting circles on TV.

I suspect that if you spring mounted the scriber you could vary the
depth by the amount of pressure you applied. Also if you are using CNC
you should be able to accurately repeat the scribes for aditional
depth. I don't know how tough, or expensive, diamond scribes are.
