but you get a better result if you hold it firmly to the table. I guess the
tapping head does the same. My belief is that stopping vibration helps keep
the break running down the score line.
The video shows (I think) it cutting a piece with a lot of curves, breaking
that out cleanly in thick glass would be hard. Normally that's done by
'nibbling' the glass to it's final size (or bandsaw like someone mentioned).
You already know that, but it's not obvious to anyone who hasn't done it.
There's a stained glass maker in the USA who cuts all of their glass with a
water jet, you'd get less waste, repeatability, edges that don't need
cleaning up and it's fast. I'm not sure how much it costs to run a water
jet, but I think it's out of my budget.
