For me, the best way to learn AutoCAD was to take a course at the
local community college. It was much quicker and easier than reading
a book.
I know you want to use the program you have, but if I was starting out
I would learn a 3D CAD program. It is a completely different approach
to drawing (parametric) and I think once you get in a 2D state of mind
(where I am now) it is harder to change to 3D. Unfortunately the
SolidWorks course at the CC was canceled due to lack of interest so I
have to plod along in the tutorials and hope it sinks in.
There is a free 3D program available at www.alibre.com. I have
downloaded it but haven't tried it. That TurboCADCAM program
mentioned in a previous post also looks interesting.
