I tried Hans's idea of trimming the skirt, or sidewall, on the keys.
Don't have time to do them all, but I trimmed the critical Escape key,
all the function and number keys. Of course, it does make it easier for
chips to get it, but it's also easier to get them out, and even with a
fair number of chips under the keys, they still register a full stroke.
I can't full trim the wide keys, they use a light torsion bar setup to
make sure the key depresses straight even if pressed off center, but I
think I can live with this for a bit. Not perfect, but better...
