Why not use a hinged plexiglas cover that you can flip up. Leave the front
open, and give yourself 5-6 inches between the top of the keyboard and the
top cover. That way you can get your hands in and type a little, or flip the
top up to do a lot. If you need an emergency key or two, you can rig a spring
loaded plunger.

This only leaves the front open, and if you keep that out of direct line of the chip
spray it might work.
