There are a few boards around that use the LMD18245 with micro-stepping
control. However, manufacturers are hard pressed to keep the costs close
to the smaller Gecko products.

It's the usual story, if you only need three buy high end. If you need
200 shop around. If you need 1000 make your own.

I released the ELS schematics and code into the GNU world. So if you feel
so inclined you could build up a stepper driver using the LMD18245 devices
along with a PIC or Atmel to have your own stepper driver. Don't think
you will save any money.

Since the source code is available for the ELS you could always modify it
to suit your application. I've done that for a genset and battery
charging system and it didn't even use the stepper driver.
