Thanks. Great information.
I'd use RS232 MODBUS to control the external electronics. I can use an
ELS to drive the motor, the electronic half nut input for the closed loop
temperature sensing and control. Or in fact use step/dir inputs and have
MACH control the extruder. All depends on what is available for software
I guess.
I was thinking it would be easier and faster to buy a head with a size 17
stepper motor on it. That stuff is all available for under $100.
