Pete and Robert,
It's a step pulley head, and I have installed an inverted. (never gonna
buy another VS head!) There's something going on in the pulleys on the
spindle side, if I take the belt off, the motor runs nice and quiet.
I rebuilt an Induma once, and the pulley assembly comes off with the
housing. I think I'd be OK if I could locate just this, but would take
the lower, fairly flat casting the housing bolts to if not too
expensive. The rest of the head is fine. Spindle runs nice and cool.
If I don't locate spares and the drive doesn't frag itself before the
job is done, I'll just pull it all apart and fix it, but there is no way
I can finish the job without the CNC, and I'd feel better having a spare
drive housing ready to go. Fortunately, I don't have to run at the high
end, rpm-wise, at 5400 it makes enough noise you sorta want to put a
scatter shield around it.
