I hope I get something out of this. I have a 7x10 mini lathe and a
grizzly mini mill.

Dan,I've a 9x19 grizzly lathe and the minimill.I'm almost donne with
the cnc retro to the mill,I'm using 16mm x 5mm lead zerobacklash
ballscrews from technoisel on xyz axis,it's not easy to figure it all
out for the first time but once it's all donne, would be easy to to
the next one.Why technoisel?becouse it's the less expenssive zero
backlash ballscrews i could find and it fits in there with minor
mods. to the mill.
maybe the 5mm(around .200")lead is to coarse for manual
possitioning but it will do the trick for cnc.
The only other size would be 3/8" ballscrew but than, you would
spend twice as much as you paid for the mill.
Other way would be to cast the nuts with Moglice or other kind of
low friction resin.I think Ginger has donne it to his Sherline mill.
Hope it helps.
fogassa.
