Brian,
For me, the first link is broken. I did get www.ballscrew.com(not
ballscrew(S), but I don't think that site will help Dan to
understand.(It's late,maybe the site you picked is/was down :) ) IMHO
The second link is also confusing (to a beginner). It appears to be
mislabeled.

Dan,
In the third link Brian posted are shown(at the bottom), the cam
style preload nuts made by BS&A. The Black triangle on the left is
the main nut which fastens to the machine.The black ring on the right
(of the left picture)is the pre-loading nut. The grey area between is
the cam which pushes the two nuts apart. These are made out of Turcite
(an engineering plastic). Available rated up to 250lbs. force.
