Hello Jon
I have to handle quite a few band saws
The best ones use an force adjustable
flow control valve that are governed by the band saw itself.
the cheap ones use a counterweight spring you adjust to your need.
Myself I am thinking for quite a while in a control where you input the material,
kind of profile and thickness. And the PLC shall govern all the variables
like blade speed, down feed, blade force etc..
But unlikely the client continues buying
second hand junk that i have to get into working condition.
There are quite a few industrial machines sold for little money.
Normally you have to invest quite a bit of hydraulic repairs to get them functioning.
Who sells a good machine?????
Some times it is better to get a conventional machine from a shop you know
and trust and make the upgrade to automatic use yourself.
Good Luck
