Smoke,

My conversion is on a cold saw. Unlike a bandsaw these things won't
gravity feed. Depending on what's being cut the operator may have to
exert a fair amount of downward force on the operating lever. The
force could easily be 50 pounds or more. Gets really old if you have
a number of cuts to make.
