For shipping within the US, I have NEVER been charged any extra fee
for unloading, handling or anything else.

When receiving packages sent from outside the US, I have occasionally
been charged odd fees. One of the strangest was a $5 charge for a
$0.05 customs duty. This was probably a mistake anyway, as any customs
duty that came out to only 5 cents would generally be waived.
I think these fees always had something to do with the extra handling
required to get an item through customs.
