I'm in Canada and whenever possible I specify that items shipped to me get
sent via the postal service from the States. This is due to the excessive
charges from some of the courier companies for clearing customs, often many
times the actual duty/tax. I had one package with about $7 duty/tax and
the clearing charges were around $50 (this is all above the cost of the
shipping which was prepaid).
