Found out about UPS the hard way when I ordered some cogged timing belts
for a belt reduction drive, $25 CAN for the belts, $15 CAN for the
shipping, $45 CAN FOR THE UPS BROKERAGE! Now I let Canadian Bearings
deal with the headache. <gr>

Any ideas out there, on an economical way to build up & true a lathe
bed?
Have a chance at a Colchester Student that has been partially
retro-fitted, but in the 8" closest to the chuck it tapers .037" due to
wear.
I can send it out to be ground and get the gibs built up, but the whole
project is a self imposed challenge to see how low cost I can go.
BTW, the lathe is likely to cost ~$500 CAN with an old Fanuc controller
boxed and included.
