I see there are several answers to your question, so, before I read 'em, I
will give you MY 2¢ worth: Good RTV specifically MADE for mold-making will
"copy" every tiny scratch on a polished surface, so, if the "master" looks
professional, and your workmanship, container, mix, etc., is decent, the
"copy" you make will be EXACT. I know! I amazed myself at what one can
"copy" with a bit of GE-10, Loctite (???), and Shell Epon 815! And, if that
copy must be tough, squish-in some fiberglass pulled from a bit of
wall-insulation from a construction-site (or Home Depot). Even a bit of
cotton-ball will do wonders! Have fun!
