Not only to the limits of their liability insurance (hope they have it) but
also any other assets like home, investments, cars, bank accounts etc.

As the injured party (victim) juvenile court system is frustrating to deal
with.

Even though you (in our case as a business owner) caught them "in the act"
of shoplifting with the goods concealed on them once you turn them over to a
LEO you basically no longer have any right to any information about them or
their parents.

We get all the information we can get before the law arrives. Even just a
home phone number can be run through www.switchboard.com to retrieve a lot
of information. Make you own notes while the law questions them before
hauling them away.

Lives are more always more important than property
