Here, here Larry, I couldn't agree more - unfortunately, this attitude is
rapidly spreading to this side of the pond also and the TV is regularly
smeared with adverts from sleazy solicitors offering to sue the pants off
anyone who might have been near the scene of your mishap on a 'no win, no
fee' basis. There is even one claiming they got £10,000 damages for the
parents of a child who fell in the school playground! This undercurrent of
blame and greed fragments society and distances people from the neighbours
they should be helping.

While I sympathise greatly with our friend and his family in this case and
wish them a speedy recovery and return to a normal life, I would not condone
the harrassing of these children's families purely for financial gain. I
would, however, hope that the families themselves would wish to try to make
some amends on their own behalf and at least show that the children have
learnt a salutory lesson.
