Monarch 10EE lathe

Hi all:
Have any of you ever driven a Monarch 10EE lathe?
Is it a reasonably hunky machine for decently deep cuts in toolsteel?
I'm looking seriously at one to upgrade from my 12x36 Chinese lathe.
I need to be able to take 0.100" passes in a 3" diameter 4140 bar at
0.008"/turn or thereabouts for the machine to be worthwhile for me.
This beast has 5 ponies, and weighs in at roughly 3000 lb for a 12.5x20
machine but it only has a d3 camlock spindle. Looks a bit puny swinging a
10" 4 jaw!
I also need to be able to get a decent finish and good roundness, neither of
which my current machine is capable of.
Cheers

Marcus
