Hi, part of the reason there beat-up is this. After the machine has run 3
shifts a day 7 days a week till time for a rebuilt to bring it up to snuff,
most decide well its a rugged machine and still holds ok so use it for
hogging till its really trashed..BUT, when they buy a new lathe and then
they found out oh, it doesnt hold like that old beast of a machine does then
you hear the crabbing. No one had guts enough or smarts enough to rebuild
the old machine while still in rebuildable state. They are lovely machines
and if treated will outlast any of us, The boss of a bearing plant said to
me "well if you can find 30 of them in reconditionable shape i'd buy them!)
They treat and care for those machine like they were newborns! IMHO.......I
have worked on 3 different sizes the biggest weighed 30,000 lbs and all
could hold a tenth all day long..cul Brian f.
