Hello Marcus,
I do not know this particular Monarch lathe ,but all
6 Monarch lathes I saw till now were nice beefy work horses.
But get a close look on ways, lead screws and spindle bearings.
Many people abused their work horses and you will not get neither finish
nor dimensions out of a ship anchor like that.
If it is in good shape then it is a machine that might last the rest of
your life.
