For the people who requested sketches of Fred's floating holder I dug
down and found an old tap holder.

The idea Ballendo had over helical interpolating with a thread mill
is normal practice. However if you cost one of these thread mills you
will find they cost about $200 each, no joke.
If you make a simple holder up you can use one segment from a
coventry die head and get very good results for a fraction of the
cost.
