Luis -
The DOS under Win98 is MS-DOS-7, although Microsoft won't call it that.
I found the problem by connecting a scope to one of the stepper lines and
looking at the waveform while I systematically disabled drivers in the
Config.sys file. Strictly trial and error after someone on the CNCPro
mailing list indicated that he was using the same computer that I was with
success.
Your top speed will be governed by the available torque of your motors,
whether you're using a bipola drive or unipolar drive, the intertia of your
mechanics, and probably a few other variables. So, I can't tell how fast you
can drive the motors. You'll have to experiment with min velocity, max
velocity, and acceleration to find out. Since your motors are heftier than
mine, I'd suspect that you could at least double the speed and will probably
turn the motors faster than that.
Glad to hear that I could be of some help.
