Seems to me that the hard part is holding onto the wood as you move
it past the saw. I am assuming balsa wood for your ultralight indoor
gliders. Random order brainstorming thoughts:

Vacuum in the carriage sucking the wood to hold it.
Adjustible dogs as in a sawmill-
Probably want to use a stationary fence to set the thickness and
stablize the flitch as it gets cut. UHMW or something else really
slick. This would also cut down on the need for really accurate
linear movement since the thickness is set by the fence.
Spring load the carriage against the fence?
Can a 0.050 slice be held on to?

A custom light duty, high contact area, low force, powered feed
roller, with a splitter on the outfeed end might be simpler, but
would not be automatic.
