Having cut a board or two on both tablesaw and bandsaw I would say
that Tim is right to want to use a circular saw. A bandsaw always
leaves vertical marks on the material being cut, that must be sanded
or planed off. a good tablesaw and blade can leave a finish almost
as good as sanded or planed. A waterjet expands as it leaves the
nozzle and on thick material looks like a bandsaw cut.
Thin kerf (1/16")blades are available. bandsawing and sanding will
probably make as much dust.
(still on topic because the object of CAM is to make a usable
product.
the machine exists for the purpose if bringing the cutting tool to
the material)
