Just a few thoughts about the wood itself. Whether your looking for three or
four inch wide strips, you're going to want extra wood on your block, or be
willing to settle for not getting a complete blocks worth of strips cut from it.
Then you clamp the wood, you introduce stress flex up to as much as an inch away
from the clamp. That means that one side will be true, while the other side
will have a tendency to waver when the clamp is removed, or the strips cut off
the block. I'm assuming here that you want to cut the strips, and then cut them
all off the remainder of the block in one pass, yes?
