Peter,
Strip off the pin holder and up down solenoid. Machine a bracket that will
hold a small slide [about .5" wide 1.5 H. with .75 movement] and a holder
for the paste. allow the pin up/down signal trigger the dispenser and allow
the air to pushout the paste and drive down the small air cylinder [dashpot]
at the same time. You may need a small spring to return the cylinder.
