Hi, stellite is a material simular to tungsten carbide in usage. I see it
used in engine valve seats, bandsaw blades for resaw, also many of the
"carbide " wood saw blades may be stellite. I think Rexall lathe bits were
made of stellite also. It is somewhat softer than tungsten carbide but seems
to hold up well for wood saws. Stellite has been around for many years. cul
